After a convenient hostel stay and some gear resupply at the amazing outfitter at Mountain Crossings we were on our way. The mornings are bitterly cold, but the clear weather soon gets the temperature to rise.

Spent the day with Robin and Tim, the other two Germans on this part of the trail. Good company.

Encountered first proper Trail Magic in the form of camping chairs, a cooler with ice/softdrinks, snacks, and a trash bag. Spirits were lifted (not that it would’ve been needed, but we didn’t complain).

Staying at Low Gap Shelter tonight (tenting); many familiar faces here tonight. There are no bear boxes, so had to stash bear can in the forest for the first time.
