Well rested we got out of the NOC; breakfast out of a kitchen was a big plus. About 4000 ft of ascent today, a big push out of the valley.

It did rain a lot. Trail conditions could be better, but it’s easier going up a muddy, wet trail than going down.

At the top of Cheoah Bald the weather did clear up though. Great views all around.

Camped for the night at Locust Cove Gap. The tent is tucked away underneath some rhododendron bushes. Could not locate any locusts.
