Taped up my ankle and was on my way. Got leftover snacks from dayhikers at Stecoah Gap. Was much needed for the climb out of the gap. Somebody should be held criminally liable for the route up the next hill.

Didn’t feel like quitting early, so pushed on to Fontana Dam. Got some quick grub at the marina, then on to the shelter.

Checked into the Hilton, which had plenty of space left. It’s quite large, has potable water, a shower and stunning views right out of the sleeping bag.

Took of the tape off the ankle and a square inch of skin as well. No tape for me in the near future. Good that antibiotics are OTC here…
