No bear activity at the shelter, but snake sighting. Keeps the mice in check, so thats perfectly fine.

Just about six miles down to Erwin. Really good views of the Nolichucky River from up above. Everytime you come down into the valleys the change of weather, humidity comes as a slight shock.

Hostel is right on trail; took the shuttle into town, resupplied and ate dinner at the supermarket deli. Chicken tenders, macaroni salad, a whole jar of Talenti (just for future cold soaking meals, of course). Got some free cake from people at the store. Fat and happy back to the hostel.

Tomorrow big plans again: trying to slackpack twenty miles. Gotta get as close to Damascus/trail days as possible until next weekend.
