Started the day in cool, steady rain. Fast hiking keeps one warm though. Cleared up after an hour or two.
Streams were high, crossing them did result in wet feet. Hiked to the Settler Museum just out of Atkins, where we got picked up for the ride into Marion/the hostel.
Bought a rain skirt and a new knife (with scissors!) at the outfitter below the hostel.
Then resupplied at the Walmart the first time since Atlanta. Was really great there, had anything you want and more (but no Spam in packets…). Should do this more often (DG resupply really sucks). Made a quick visit to the Ingles, which will probably be the last one on trail. Sad.
After that, dinner at Sonic. They have great food; ate my first corn dog there as well. Might not be the last one.
Did take a quick look at the Memorial Day display at the courthouse in town.
Then back to the hostel and the ordinary management of the packsplosion/resupply chaos.
