Woods Hole is so awesome, we decided not to spend the next night in Pearisburg, but to extend the stay. Even got Buckeye Boy into the hostel vortex. What initially was just a means to avoid the dry stretch on the ridge turned out to be an exceptionally vibey place.
Breakfast was one of the best in my life. Fresh bread, apple butter, two kinds of oatmeal dishes, broccoli spinach eggs, orange juice, freshly roasted coffee.
Organized a slackpack into Pearisburg/shuttle back to the hostel and did the 12 miles just before a thunderstorm started.
At the trailhead just out of town we got the best trail magic yet from Dave, who has family on trail right now. He set up a build-your-taco station out of the back of his truck. After eating two of the tacos it started pouring; helped pack the food back into the truck, then left for town.
Got a ride into town by the host of a local hostel, resupplied at Food Lion, then back via shuttle (Honey Bun) to Woods Hole for dinner.
Ate probably too much, but the homemade food is just to die for. Lentils, rice, fresh bread, broccoli from the garden.
