Another one of the Virginia ridge walks. Two ridges today. The first one with great views for a change.
Between the ridges: Trail magic by Allan, who cooked hot dogs for hikers. Met Smokey Bear again (after Warrens), who is supporting the mom with 13 kids on trail. Also met Bubbles and Mississippi, who we haven’t seen in a long time.
The second ridge walk was quite pretty, with grassy trail, blooming mountain laurel. Checked out the Audie Murphy memorial.
After coming down from the mountain we decided to camp at Trout Creek. Jason and a buddy were hanging out at the bridge and handing out beers. Nice evening. Jason told stories about him being “Sir!”d, about tactical saunas, and was an all around great guy.
