Broke down camp and were just ready to hike out, when cars were pulling in to the parking area beside our spot. With a grill on a trailer.

Ended up getting legendary trail magic from Survivor, Tadpole, and support. They thru hiked in 2019 and have been doing trail magic at this very spot ever since once a year. Good timing. We ended up getting out of there at noon.

Aiming to go over McAfee Knob that evening that was a little late. Did Dragon’s Tooth, where we ate the sandwiches we packed out from Survivor. Gruelling hike down from there.

Then on to McAfee Knob, which we summited at around 22:15 in pitch blackness. Didn’t find the knob immediately, but got there eventually.

Went 0.5 miles further and set up camp at the Pig Farm Site, aiming for a 5 AM hike back to the Knob for sunrise shots.
