Got up early after a night of cowboy camping. Left at 5:30 to go back to McAfee Knob, arrived at the not-McAfee-Knob-ledge, where about 10 people were waiting for sunrise.
Went over to McAfee Knob, where we were completely alone except for a couple with their dog. Got a lot of pictures there. Canadian wildfire haze made for a great sunrise.
Had a memorable breakfast up there.
Left camp very late, hiked over the Tinker Cliffs, and with that completed the Virginia Triple Crown. Good views back to McAfee from there.
Went to Lambert’s Meadow Shelter, took a nap, waited for Buckeye Boy, whose birthday it is today. Mimi and Airquotes there as well.
Good times.
