Got up early at Thru It All, got out of the children’s room, got breakfast (scones and eggs/ham/mushrooms).

Started the hike with a 0.8 mile roadwalk back to the trail, then onwards.

Met a rattlesnake, got rattled at, went on. At noon, a thunderstorm. Waited that out on the porch of a hut, then went on in the rain.

Arrived at the halfway point lately in the afternoon. Only 1099.2 miles left!

Met some dayhikers at a shelter, who gave us watermelon. Found a water cache up on the ridge as well.

Weather got better in the evening. Arrived at Pine Grove Furnace just before 7. Met up with Nightowl and Woodchuck, who were meeting up with Turmeric for some scheduled trail magic.

Checked into the Ironmasters Mansion for the night, which is an historic building on the furnace complex converted into a hostel.
