AT 120: To Dalton

Got up early, watched the sunrise over the lake, then got served pancakes and coffee by Vlobster.

Got out at eightish, said goodbye to Buckeye, and went on our way. Long day into Dalton, and with rain threatening, we didn’t do many breaks but hiked on and on.

Little bit of mud, a lot of roots. Training for Vermont. Fell completely flat on my belly at one time, tripping over some sneaky root or rock.

Arrived in town at 5:30 after 21 miles of walking. Went to the ice cream shop (cinnamon, orange, in a waffle cone), then to a gas station for quick junk resupply (hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches, Duke’s).

Got a ride to the Zero Day Hostel by Pokey, a trail angel based in Great Barrington.
