AT 125: Mud Mud Mud Mud Mud Mud

Woke up late to escape the rain, which was supposed to end noonish. The plan worked out, and after a DD breakfast we hit the trail at around noon to just a light sprinkling.

Trail conditions after the rain last night are meh. A lot of mud due to minimal trail maintenance, no functional water bars, very minimal signage.

Lunch at the new Seth Warner Shelter. Shortly after that we took a wrong turn and walked down a literal creek, thinking it was the trail. Double checked after 10 minutes as the ‘trail’ seemed to be too easy to walk on and not muddy enough. Says a lot about the condition of the trail.

Two hours into the day we realized that we misunderestimated the terrain by quite a bit. Mud and trail conditions made us even slower than normal. Decided to just make it to the bailout point of the day. Arrived there with the last of the daylight, with Buckeye, Maggs, and Pokey waiting there for us.

For the night went into Bennington and checked into a motel.
