Another big day planned. Over 5000 ft of elevation change and just shy of 18 miles. Got up early and hiked all day, as we do.

Terrain got noticeably rockier, climbs got steeper. Probably a small taste of the Whites. Made it up Smarts Mountain, climbed up the fire tower, had great views.

Then quite strenuous five miles to the Hexacuba Shelter, which is a six sided shelter, and has a five sided privy.
