Left the pond and climbed down into Crawford Notch. The climb out of there is basically the start of climbing Washington.

Did Mount Jackson, then went on to Mizpah Spring Hut, where we arrived at about 2:30. The hut croo told us that hiking further up is not advisable, as space at Lake Of The Clouds would not be available. Called it an early day then, got cold leftovers from the hut, and set up tent at the Nauman Tentsite.

Lot’s of weekenders around, as it’s the Labour Day Weekend. Tomorrow then an early start and up and over Mount Washington.
