Got up at 5, packed up a final time. Walked over to Katahdin Stream, and started with the Hunt Trail.
A long and steep trail that is, with really scrambly parts, exposed ridges, big boulders. The views of the mountain itself were incredible, the views of the landscape around it as well.
Reached the summit just before noon, with a crowd of fellow thru hikers already there. Pony, Queso, CBS, Huckfinn, Mudbag, Daybreak, and a few others as well. Lightning and Thunder came in over the Knifes Edge, Daywalker came in on the Hunt as well.
Went down Abol Trail, which took a long time, exposed to the sun, down a big rocky descent. Were greeted at Abol Campground with trail magic, and got a hitch back to Katahdin Stream.
Johnny K picked us up there and gave us a hitch into Millinocket, where we got into the hostel. Had dinner with Meghan and Manuel in the evening, they summited a couple of days before us.
A long journey comes to an end. Thanks for all y’all’s support on and off trail. It has been the most amazing time of my life.
