  Woke up early, got a long breakfast at the hotel. Walked to the REI to get a bear can, gas, and various smaller things. After that: Grocery shopping at Walmart. A lot of things there I’ve never seen before; walked up and down the aisles for a very long time looking for suitable looking food.…

  Started early with large crew at the airport. Big thanks to all who did support me. Status of in flight reading project: Did finish Perdido Street Station 15 minutes before touchdown. Last ~2 hours of flight will be retraced by foot in the next months. Cleared immigration and touched US soil for the first time.…
