Yosemite 2: High Sierra

Started the day hiking out of the Ten Lakes region, and making our way towards Cathedral Creek.

A long, exposed way down to the canyon floor, then up the creek for a while. Crossing the creek we had a quick break, filtering water, watching trout, and, by accident, catching a fish in our water bag (we let it out into the creek again).

After going up the canyon wall on the opposite side again, we had an afternoon of high elevation passes and snow fed creeks, just all around beautiful scenery.

In the evening we made our way to McGee Lake, where we set up camp for the night. No good tenting spots there, and the lake was kinda murky as well. Turmeric found a little spot up above the trail, where we were able to pitch the tent quite well, though. Big granite wall in the background there made for impressive views.

Have been walking between 8000 and 10000 ft for the whole day. Tomorrow we’ll enter the big canyon and will drop down significantly in elevation.
