Yosemite 3: Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne

This morning, after a short mile or so, we arrived at Glen Aulin, an established camp, where one could book a night in a tent-hut, if so inclined. The real kicker was the toilet and the drinking water, open for anyone, though.

After a quick stop there, we crossed the PCT again (this time felt more real, ’cause we hiked in…). Then on, into the canyon.

Started out pretty shallow, but after following the Tuolumne River for several hours, along waterfalls tiny and big, the walls started to get higher and higher.

Saw one big rattlesnake, big trees, humongous pinecones, chunky lizards, a lot of waterfalls and hundreds of feet of granite wall beside us.

In the afternoon we found a stellar camp site above the river, set up camp and called it a day. Very enjoyable thing not having to do stupid miles every day and being able to relax a bit in the evening.
