AT 86: Into Yankee Land

Good weather, with showers in the afternoon. Did an extended lunch break at Penn Mar, then shortly after crossed the Mason-Dixon Line into Pennsylvania. Terrain really got rocky, the stories about PA may be true after all.

AT 85: Out Of Cross Trails

We’ll have to leave Buckeye Boy for the next few weeks. His foot is not usable yet, so he will stay at the hostel for a while. Sad times. After saying our farewells we shuttled back to Gathland and hiked on. Getting really hot and humid right now. Stopped for lunch at one of the

AT 84: Slowly Starting Hiking Again

Quick starter hike out of Cross Trails. Slackpacked about nine miles, then back to the hostel again. Hiking without Buckeye Boy feels weird. Started at the Potomac on a nice, flat section; then up into the woods again. Ended the hike at Gathland State Park, then shuttled back with Benny.

AT 83: Fourth In DC

Shuttled to the next Metro station with Benny, then took the Red Line into DC. Did a quick run to the best/most accessible sites there: Parade, National Archives, National Gallery Of Art, Washington Monument, White House, Fireworks. Very patriotic. Did see the Declaration of Independence, and van Gogh’s self portrait, but didn’t meet Joe Biden

AT 82: Waiting For The Fourth

Called home and did some of the digital chores that were left. Did a resupply for tomorrow. Buckeye Boy’s foot is not in the best shape. He won’t be hiking out with us anytime soon. Watched a thunderstorm rolling in in the evening.
