AT 156: Crocker

Woke up early, broke down tent, left the logging road. A hostel stay was calling and we pushed for miles. Passed South/North Crocker Mountain, who are, despite being 4000ers, fairly unremarkable. Passed the 2000 mile marker today. That’s a lot of miles. Sub 200 to go! In the evening we got a really nice sunset,

AT 155: Saddleback

Got egg sandwiches from Steve, said our goodbyes, then on trail again. Did the Saddleback ridge, which had amazing views above treeline. Reminiscent of Franconia. In the evening did an hour of night hiking and set up tent on an old fire road.

AT 154: Off Grid Zero

Took an unplanned zero to get some much needed rest. The Hiker Hut is really nice, and having no cell service and electricity may help relaxing. Went into Rangeley to do laundry, charge up electronics, and resupply, then back to the trailer.

AT 153: Slog Slog Slog

A wet and muddy hike today. Started out quite foggy, then cleared up a bit. On and off drizzle all day. Terrain was mostly flat, very rooty and muddy though, which made for slow progress. Checked into the Hiker Hut in the evening, where the next resupply package was waiting. Got an old camper as

AT 152: More Cabin Slackpacking

Another slackpack today, over Old Blue Mountain and the Bemis Ridge. Had rain threatening all day, but just a little sprinkle materialized all day. Saw fresh moose poop, but not one moose. Strange birds in the trees though. Best views at the end of the day, when we waited for our pick up. Bonus: Maine
